About to update the bios on my acer aspire desktop m3470g and I was wondering if someone could double check I'm downloading the right one and maybe give me some instructions as it is my first time.

Here's the update:http://www.acer.ca/ac/en/CA/content/drivers

Btw I'm doing this cause I'm upgrading my processor

Yes you unzip the dowloaded file to a USB flash drive (like this : http://g-ecx.images-amazon.com/images/G/01/electronics/detail-page/c26-B007YX9O9Y-1-l.jpg)
then you reboot your PC and hit ''delete'' until you are in the BIOS, from there you launch the update from the USB flash drive...but read the tutorial i posted before you do anything, back up your BIOS and know that you are taking a risk by doing this operation, if something goes wrong (it usualy don't) you could ruin your motherboard...

click here, download that : http://global-download.acer.com/GDFiles/BIOS/BIOS/BIOS_Acer_P01.A4_A_A.zip?acerid=634660934071949768&Step1=DESKTOP&Step2=ASPIRE&Step3=ASPIRE%20M3470G&OS=ALL&LC=en&BC=ACER&SC=PA_4

This is the most up to date bios for your machine.. (2012/02/29)

Now follow these instructions here:
http://www.wikihow.com/Update-Your-Computer%27s-BIOS

If you have any questions come back and ask, but it should be good provided you follow these steps...good luck.

You are not using Linux aren't you? cause the bios i provided is for windows based system.

NOTE: you don't need a floppy disk to install this from you can use a simple USB flash drive (USB key) to do that
