I have a Gateway DX4870 (i5 - 3330 CPU) with windows 8, when I installed a EVGA GeForce GT 610 graphics card and rebooted, the screen remained blank. when I removed the card and used the integrated video card, it boots up fine. I looked in BIOS for a way to disable the Integrated video card i did not find the option. Any suggestions??

Using the integrated graphics, install the drivers from Nvidia's website for the 610, and then shut down and install the card. Then go into the BIOS and turn off integrated video.
Thanks for the reply, that is the process that I have used successfully in the past with Dells. However with this Gateway, when I try to install the graphics card driver, it loads to the point where i get a message stating that it could not find compatible graphics hardware. But when I instal the hardware, the PC won't boot so I am stuck there. Also, in BIOS I could not find anything referring to video or graphics card to disable the integrated card. I am thinking it is a BIOS setting somewhere. Any more suggestions??

I'll look, but that is a weird issue. It could be that because it's a store bought PC, the BIOS isn't allowing any upgrades, which would force the consumer to purchase another computer from Gateway...?
