My budget is;

£420 - could probably push to £450
or $704 - $755 for all you Americans.

I want a gaming rig that can play the AC4: Black Flag that I purchased.

Any advice? Suggestions? What shall I buy?

At the moment this is what I have in mind, will it work?

Blueray:
Dell Studio XPS SONY BC-5540H Blu-Ray BD-ROM/DVD+/-RW Rewriteable Drive 0ND5H
Motherboard+CPU:
AMD FX-6300 Six Core | Gigabyte GA-78LMT-USB3 HDMI CPU Motherboard Bundle
Graphics:
MSI AMD Radeon R9 270X 1030MHz 2GB GDDR5 PCIe3.0 HDMI Gaming Graphics Card New
PSU:
ATX 650W GAMING PC POWER SUPPLY UNIT 650W PSU WITH SATA
SSD:
SanDisk 60GB Ultra SATA 2.5" Internal SSD SOLID STATE DRIVE 60 GB G
Other HDD:
NEW 1TB SATA II 3.5" INTERNAL DESKTOP PC 7200RPM 1000GB HARD DISK DRIVE
Heatsink Fan:
Arctic Cooling Alpine 11 GT Rev.2 Quiet CPU Cooler Intel LGA1156/1155/1150/775
Case:
AvP Viper Black Mini Tower Gaming Case - USB 3.0

If that won't work, or you can see cheaper/same price improvements, please let me know. :)

Thanks.

PS. I've never build a PC before, but my Dad has so I'll probably do it at his place, but the last time he built one was around 1995, have the theories changed much?

Just wondering.. How come it has to be a branded PSU?

Those are brands which are good quality. A lot of the other ones use cheap components which might fail you in a few months.

because one of the cheap components rate 650watts but it doesnt really exceed 650watts. they use chinese capacitors and cheap components for low price. it may pop or explode overtime. never go cheap on the psu.

Gotcha, understood. Shame about the prices. Will I need 650 watts or could I decrease? (Such a noob).

And are you positive all the components will fit in the case? :D  :D

In which case, I do.

How good will the system be in terms of gaming? Compared to say, a PS4/Xbox One?

Also is the 6-core CPU worth it, in comparison to cheaper quad cores?
Is the SSD a luxury or a vital component?

And is the graphics card the best at that price?

it will do great in gaming mostly maxed out and some at high. the SSD is a very useful component for faster loading times in booting windows, loading files, game loading times. the fx 6 core will beat the old phenom x4 but will not beat the i5. but still a great cpu for low budget purpose. how much is that graphics card?
