The chip for my wireless mouse broke

Solution
You can't buy a compatible USB chip on it's own as far as I know, and in any case they are all set to a different frequency to avoid cross-interference. New wireless mouse is the only solution, existing one is useless now even as a spare since it won't work with the new USB chip (different frequency).

I've got two Microsoft wireless mice (laptop & PC) and I know the two USB chips are not interchangeable because I've tried it.
