So recently i was having problems with cooling on my brand new fx-6300 but i think I've finally got it figured out. I was before running at 50c or so when I was idle but now I'm running at 36-37c with about 5-6% CPU usage due to me being on Skype with a buddy.

So is this considered a decent idle temp? I know its sure as hell a lot better then 50+ like it was before but i want to know if its where it should be.

idle temps around 30 to 40 degree are considered perfect

With stock heatsink is should be around 35c and above. With my cooler I average 5c and max at 20c under load hahaha

Awesome, for anyone who was curious the way I way fixed it here's what i did. My power options were set to high performance so my CPU was constantly clocked to 3.75ghz when it basically had no CPU usage but now when idle its at around 1.4-1.5ghz.

I know this is solved but mine idles at 27-30C at 4GHz and stock cooler. Idle loads are ~20%. You could probably improve your temps by just improving airflow in the case because the stock cooler is good enough to keep it relatively low (or i'm just lucky).

Yea i have 2 case fans that I'm going to be putting in soon so that will hopefully make things even better for me.

my temps with this processor and stock heatsink was 38c. I now have a bigger cooler with heat pipes and idle temp is 28-30c. I have 3 case fans, 1 intake and 2 exhausting.
