1333 mhz 1600mhz help!!

i have a biostar n68s3b mobo max at 1333mhz and a athlon ii x2 250 processor max at 1333mhz, is it safe for me to use g skill ripjaws 1600mhz 4gb( 2gb x 2)? thank you!

what if i installed gskills 1x 4gb and 1x 2gb both 1600 mhz, is it still safe to put on a mobo and procie thats 1333mhz?

You can try, might take some voltage and timing changes, if you try and have problems, give me a shout

The RAM will only run at 1333MHz since that is the max it can support. And, as Trademan said, you could definitely try to put a 4gb stick and a 2gb stick, but its not guaranteed to work.

It does work... I have 12GB 1333 MHZ total RAM in 2x2 GB (4GB) and 2x4 GB (8GB) in a AMD Athlon II x 2 250 and it works perfectly.
