Hello Tom's,

I'm nearly done building my PC, but the SATA cables that came with my Corsair AX 760 won't fit in my 500GB Samsung Evo.

I tried other SATA cables but same issue. Twice the SATA cable plugged in like 1/5th of the way, but it wouldn't go any further.

I really have no idea what to do at this point, can anyone help?

Thanks

What you did is much better than using brute force and breaking something!

Yeah I'm quite sure, I just tried plugging in the SATA cable into the optical drive, and AGAIN it didn't fit.

Did Corsair give me crappy SATA cables? I don't understand no one else seems to have had this problem

If you tried multiple SATA cables and none of them fit then there is a problem with the SATA drive. During molding there might be a burr or mold flash that was not removed during production. Inspect the SATA port on the SSD and compare it ti other SATA ports on other hard drives (or SSD drives) abd see whether there is a difference. If the SATA molded port is bad start an RMA.

Yeah that's what I was starting to think. Uhhg so lame it came with 3 SATA cables how did they fk them all up lol.

What do I do can I buy SATA cables with ease or do I need to contact Corsair?

LOL omg I just manned up and shoved it in there and it actually fit. I didn't think it would require so much force. Sorry for wasting your time guys it's my first build. I do appreciate the help though.

Solution
the cables he refers to have to be the SATA POWER cables as what he references is a corsair POWER supply. of course a power supply does not come with SATA data cables. no he can not just buy the custom modular cables at newegg.

this appears to be a case of extreme user error. obviously he could not have tried "other" SATA cables when we are talking about the power supply. he's just trying to plug it in completely wrong

Wait what? I honestly have no clue what you're talking about. I wasn't using the SATA data port I was trying to plug in the SATA power plug into the power port, and had some trouble as I thought it would fit easier.

But anyway, do I need those data ports you are taking about or is that just for data transfer?

Yep I think it's in all the way, but I'll double check after sleep. I think the problem may be my video card or CPU cus when my computer turned on the GPU didn't light up but all my fans were running and mobo was lit up

The graphics card is a little harder to plug into the PCI slot - and the latch at the right-hand end (when facing the card) must be engaged. Be very careful when you try to unplug this card. When you unplug the graphics card the latch must be physically dis-engaged, then the card can be pulled out.

I mean I think I put it in all the way. I tried more than once to push it in more and it just started to bend the mobo so Idk could my CPU make there be no display or light on the GPU?

This graphics card takes two 8-pins power inputs. Make sure you use PCI power cables. Your PSU manual will explain.

Hmm I might've missed that actually. I used PCI cables but there were 2 pins I didn't use cus I didn't see space for them on the GPU. I'll check when I wake up (it's 6 am for me xD).

Thanks a lot for your help mate
