Hey all. I cant decide if I should upgrade my computer or get a ps4. Here are my current pc specs.

AMD fx 4100
gigabyte 990fxa ud3 rev 1.1
8GB RAM
Sapphire 6870
1TB HDD
Antec VP450

So I was thinking about getting a ps4 as a cheaper alternative this generation rather than worry about upgrading my pc every 2-3 years but then ill miss all the great steam sales and pc exclusive titles like the upcoming civilization game . I cant decide between the two.Basically if I go with pc again I want a console like experience on my pc I dont care about playing everything at ultra settings which lets face it consoles play everything on the low-medium settings anyway they just upscale to 720/1080p. However if I go ps4 its only a one off investment and im good for the next 5-6 years or whatever but I miss out on steam and pc exclusive titles because by then my computer will be well out of date but i get the added benefit of console exclusive titles like Kingdom hearts 3 and final fantasy 15 which I do want to play . Now if I do upgrade my pc the gpu I want to get is the 7850. Now If I have read correctly the 7850 is basically on par with the gpu inside the ps4 .For the cpu I want to upgrade to the fx 6300. Now the apu inside the ps4 is The Jaguar core.its 8 cores but Its a low-power architecture. Like Intels Atom. They have much lower performance per core and per clock, and it also runs at much lower clocks. Would the FX-6300 be on par or weaker than the apu despite the apu having 8 cores? or in the end does it just come down to software optimization? the upgrade would cost $383 which is much less than a ps4 costs here in New Zealand ps4 is $649 so the upgrade is much cheaper which is a plus and I can buy that upgrade right now. if I want a ps4 I have to wait a few more weeks and sell my ps3.What should I do guys? move to consoles or stick with pc?

upgrade that PC. You also have to consider that if you want online experience it will cost you monthly. Consoles also have huge heat issues so if the GPU is "on par" with a 7850, a 7850 in a computer will out do it because it can stay cooler. Get the 6300, a 500W minimum corsair, antec, seasonic and xfx, whichever model is the cheapest for you. Put as much money then into the GPU.

Why should I get a new psu when my 6870 which supposedly requires a 500w psu runs just fine? the 7850 has newer technology as well running on 28nm which uses less power than my 6870. Personally I dont think I need a new psu.
