Hi All,

I recently started experiencing application crashes when using my 3d rendering software, sometimes even when not actually doing anything with it, just open and idle. I started looking for a cause relating to the software itself, and on the software forums they suggested i update my video drivers. Having not updated my video drivers for at least a few months, i figured why not.

The problem i have now (which may or may not be related to the app crashes) is i cant update my video drivers without getting a BSOD. The driver install gets to the point where the display drops out temporarily, and from there i get the BSOD. I tried 3 different driver versions, all the same. I have not yet tried removing the drivers completely first, as i wanted some input before i do that incase i get stuck with no video drivers after doing it.

Bluescreen view tells me it is SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED, caused by nvlddmkm.sys.

Rest of my specs are:
Windows 7 64bit
i7 4770k
Twin GTX 780s
32gig corsair platinum 1600
samsung 840 evo SSD
Gigabyte G1 sniper 5 motherboard

Any help is appreciated

Ok, a reboot after the other link above and ahve now successfully installed new drivers. Hopefully this fixes the crash in my rendering application also.

Thanks for your help
