Yeah, it will work fine, but I would use a very fine sandpaper on it first, then clean it very well with contact cleaner. You may want to take it in somewhere that they can powdercoat it, as spray paint wears off, collects dust, and scratches easily. A powder coat will last forever and look amazing, and be very even. If you don't have the money for that, spraypaint will work, but I suggest refreshing it every so often. Contact cleaner will make sure it's more even, and will last longer.

Hi Teamtubbykiller ,
I am assuming you are using pressure pack spray cans ?
First clean the surface thoroughly and ensure the surface is dry , then apply a coat of a quick drying metal primer , this will help the top coat to
bond well to the surface without it cracking or flaking even if it is painted.
then apply the top coat of the color you are going to spray and you should be good to go , do not get too close to the surface when spraying and place side panel on newspaper and spray it outside so you dont get the fumes from the paint and any overspray will go onto the paper,
use a quallity 3m masking tape if you want to mask out the window so that when you remove the tape later you do not leave any sticky residue

DO A TRIAL SPRAY ON SOMETHING ELSE FIRST TO GET THE HANG OF HOW FAR AWAY TO PAINT AND HOW IT WILL LOOK

hope this helps
