Monitor not receiving signal, but PC is still running.

So after having my PSU surging for a bit and getting that dealt with, another problem has arisen.

When playing Chivalry: Medieval Warfare, or sometimes any other game (been happening a lot in Chiv), my monitor suddenly stops receiving signal from my PC, yet my PC is still running. I know that all fans are working (rear 120mm, CPU fan, and PSU fan) when this happens. I'm also unable to use my keyboard or mouse to get the machine to "wake up." It's been happening a lot recently, and only while playing games.

The only way to get it back to working condition is to press the reset button and after that, the screen freezes on the "ASUS" logo screen, and then I have to press the power button to turn it off, then press the button again to turn it back on.

It's come to the point where I don't feel that I can use this to even play games, which is the main reason I invested my money in a PC.

Here's my setup:
Mobo: ASUS F2A85-M PRO FM2 AMD A85X
CPU: AMD A10-6800K Richland 4.1GHz (4.4GHz Turbo) Socket FM2 100W Quad-Core
PSU: Rosewill Green Series RG530-S12 530W
HDD: Western Digital WD10EZEX 1TB
RAM: G.SKILL Sniper Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866
Monitor: Not exact model, but it's a Toshiba TV screen w/ VGA and HDMI. I also use it to watch DVDs and play console games.

Solution

ok, this could be the issue, but if the entire build is just locking up then i would put my money on Gpu drivers becoming unresponsive & failing to recover. Thus causing the entire build to...

How long have you had this monitor? it could be dead capacitors due to long time use of a monitor. Try turning the brightness and contrast down, it'll use less juice and be easier on the monitor. (I had a similar issue)

I've had the monitor/TV for about 2 years approx.

I'll try it, but I don't think that it's the monitor itself, because I'm unable to use my PC, and my monitor stops receiving signal from my PC. I'm thinking something internal, like my CPU or my MOBO.

I'll update you once I've tried lowering contrast and brightness.

I don't have much knowledge on PC hardware, so bear with me here.

My PSUs max power is 530W, and my GPU requires 100W(?).
I'm guessing that it can handle my GPU, since I've had the thing for months already, and I've never overheated. I'm running about 46 C on GPU at most (last time I checked) and people I've seen have been running WAY hotter than I am.

Thus causing the entire build to lock up, check to make sure you have the latest drivers for everything! Mobo, cpu, gpu, monitor (if needed) etc. If you applied any overclocking i'd go back to default settings as well. Hope this fixes it for you!

No, I don't overclock, so I wouldn't need to change anything in that department.

And how would I go about getting the latest drivers for my MOBO, CPU, and GPU?

You would go to the manufacturer's website for the card, find the card's page, go to drivers tab of the page, download them, install, etc. same with mobo and monitor (if needed) or. if you don't know what gpu you have, go:
Start menu>Run>Dxdiag And then you should see your specs.

Thanks!
and also, I'm a bit confused on MOBO drivers... there's tons of them. Do I have to get all of them?

no, just get the most recent driver update.
