System shut down and not starting immediately...

Guys hi,

This is my 1st thread,

built a mid range gaming system,

AMD fx 6300 and stock heatsink
8gb ram
zotac gtx 660 sy edition
550 w psu
whats happening is while playing bf4 in ultra my system getting shut down in 10mins and while playing in low it takes 20mis to shut down.... and im unable to swtich on immediately, it nearly 45mins...


gurus please help me where the problem is...!!!

More than likely it's the power supply doing this. What model is it? Regardless of what it is though, I'd recommend you stop trying to use your computer, but if you absolutely HAVE to use it for something, don't game on it. You should replace the power supply asap.

Yeah no, that's a terrible idea and it is not as simple as you might think. You want to replace the whole unit with a good quality one from the likes of Seasonic, PC Power & Cooling, XFX, Antec, NZXT or Corsair. You won't be needing more than a 500W unit for your build, and if you can spare the extra cash, go for a model that's rated 80+ Gold efficiency over the more common Bronze models.

doubletake.. my psu is 550w... do i need more power.. or its coz of cpu heat..? coz as soon as 70C touches it get shut down.. and after 30-45min only im able to switch on...

GUYS PLEASE MAKE ME CLEAR... TODAY ENTIRE DAY.. MY SYSTEM WAS SWITCHED ON.. THEN NOW I RAN BF4 AND AFTER 20MINS IT GOT SHUT DOWN... AND AFTER 45MINS I WAS ABLE TO SWITCH ON... WHY THIS IS HAPPENING..?

USING CORSAIR VS 550 FOR

ITB SEAGATE
ZOTAC GTX 66O SY EDITION
Gigabyte GA-78LMT-S2 Motherboard

NO, it's not because of heat. The CPU would have to be hitting over 100C for the thermal protection to shut it down. This is NOT the issue. A computer shutting down when under load is almost always because of the PSU being faulty and needing immediate replacement.

yupp even i tested CPU n GPU,

CPU @ 100% load it was stable @ 56C
GPU @ 100% load it went to 88% and my GPU fan started running soooo fast then immediate shut down happen...

wat could b the reason..?
