Help guys! i have western digital my book 1230 4tb and for some reason it stops responding, then after i restart it Device manager/ Devices and Printers are only the ones who can detect it and My Computer wont. I tried everything from rebooting/uninstalling the driver/installing it again/trying it to other pc, Changing the Drive letter but its not possible because there is no options when i there when i tried it. What i haven't tried is opening the case and removing the hard drive then putting it directly on my desktop board. I have lots of files there including our clients videos so if don't recover the files there, were doomed! so guys please help me! thanks in advance!

You've already tried the usual recommended solutions which I suggest to people with that problem, all that's left is to test it to see if it is physically faulty. Test it with this: http://support.wd.com/product/download.asp?groupid=613&sid=3&lang=en

(ignore the drive model shown on the page. You can test any WD hard drive with the software).

If the drive proves to be faulty, only a data recovery specialist service can get data off it.
