My laptop sceen has been disabled after newest ATI driver update, cant switch it back on , if i try to force desktop on my laptop i get a black screen, if i select detect it does show the buildin screen but not how to turn it back on, If i disconnect HDMI cable it doesnt switch to build in screen, Im clueless HDMI sound doesnt work either as i think it needs the Lasptop screen to work ????

System recovery fails too so cant go back to my old settings

Op sys :

Win 7 64 bit
I7 2nd gen
8 Gb ram
ATI Radeon HD card

Did you update the driver to correct a problem, or just because an update was available?
If the latter, that wasn't smart as you should never update a driver if existing one is working okay.
(never mess with anything that works properly - - leave it be).

Now, to get back to the previous driver that was working okay:

Open Device Manager.
Right-click the ATI graphics card under Display Adapters and choose "Properties".
Click the "Driver" tab.
Click "Roll back driver"
When it's rolled back, restart Windows just to make sure that the roll back sticks.

In future, ignore any driver updates for any device if existing driver is working okay.
Updating drivers to latest version is not compulsory!

Well i found it in the end i installed a DESKTOP driver, btw my graphics card died 4 weeks ago,but long time ago i just uninstalled the driver and just used the std VGA... it worked perfectly, just ignored all the : u need to update ur driver messages in games ^^ , as it was my first and hell it also be the LAST laptop i bought , it still might be a warning for other laptop users to make SURE u have a laptop driver ;)
