Single 21:9 Monitor or Dual Monitors

I recently decided that I wanted to upgrade my ASUS VE247H to either dual monitors, or one wide monitor. My main issue with two monitors is the bezel size, which is why I was leaning towards a 29" monitor.

If I went with 2 monitors, I was looking into the Acer H236HL Bid because it seems to have fairly decent reviews and a thin bezel. For 29" monitors, I was looking at the LG 29UM65-P mainly because it was on sale and has a fairly short response time of 5ms. Only thing is that I can't really seem to find any reviews on it.

Anyway, I will be using this for both school stuff and gaming and was just looking for some feedback on what to look for when getting a wider monitor setup.

One screen is great for games and 2 isn't, as the center is between two borders, making most games unplayable.

Dual screens is much better for doing multitasking, as that has huge benefits for assignments for school, as well as other work. You'll have to game on one though.

Ultra wide is great for multitasking also, and especially great for gaming as it's ultra wide, you'll get a great FOV.

Overall, the Ultra Wide would come out better overall, unless gaming isn't the biggest concern.

For now, I definitely value gaming experience over multitasking. My understanding is then that pretty much the minimum amount of monitors needed for a better gaming experience is probably 3, is that correct?

yes, so best for now to have one 21:9 monitor. Unless you get dual monitors and a third later, then that may be also a good approach. But if that won't happen for a long time, ultra wide is the route to go. Fir record ultra wide, in games, it does't tend to stretch the screen but give you a larger FOV.
