Hey everyone,
I plan to game online, nothing serious I'll start of by playing something like Heroes of Newerth(HoN) similar to Dota on wc3 only online.

I live in Tamil Nadu, India.

Which plan would be the best for gaming: THE FIRST ONE OR THE THIRD ONE? Compared to a BSNL USB 3G dongle which has a data rate of 7.2 Mbps I'm not sure of bandwith though.

First or third plan from the list in this site? Also compare it to the 3G USB dongle please.

In short, 1st or 3rd plan from this list: http://www.bsnlteleservices.com/2012/07/bsnl-unlimited-broadband-internet-home_02.html
VERSUS:
http://www.bsnlteleservices.com/2014/01/bsnl-72-144-mbps-data-card-dongle-400-700.html

Which one would be best?

Also please note that I will not be using youtube, Facebook, surfing net. I will only use it for online gaming with simple games.

Please help me.

If you are really sure you are only going to run a single game and do nothing else during that time you might get by with a 1m/sec dsl plan. I would go to the 4m/sec just to be safe it is still it is still a lot cheaper than the wireless broadband. Be very care the page you list is a one time charge for the 3g dongle it is not the monthly fee. The lowest broadband plan they sell is 1,250/month and you only get 750mbytes and if you exceed it they will charge you more. The DSL package is only 950/month and if you exceed the 8gbyte limit it drops ot 512k/sec which you might play a game on.

So price wise the DSL seems your best option.

The 3g may or may not be faster it depends how close to a cell tower you are. The main issue is...

Why is it better? Also the reason I suggested the dongle is because I don't have a fixed land-line telephone in my house. Is it still possible to get a fixed DSL without a telephone?

What will be the difference in speed and latency?

The 3g may or may not be faster it depends how close to a cell tower you are. The main issue is that the latency is very high and tends to be random. Games do not need the speed as much as they need low latency. If you are serious about using a mobile broadband connection to play games you need to look for a 4g LTE based system. These have much lower latency and even more speed if you are lucky. Still all mobile broadband is optimized for someone who is not in one fixed location. They trade off mobility for many options. If for example you were playing a game and you switched from cell tower to cell tower it would cause a large lag in your game at that point. It will often for cell tower switches even if you are not moving to rebalance the network for those people who are using it from their cars.
