Hello, I need some recommendations on a new wireless router and a wireless WiFi receiver(USB or PCI-E whichever is better). Basically my Desktop which is using a WiFi receiver N-300 USB adapter(netgear) and my current dsl router is a Pace 4111N. On my desktop I lose the internet connection or lose connection with the wireless Router which I would have to restart my computer or restart the wireless router software to get it to reconnect. This is weird because I don't have any WiFi problems on my phone(Nexus 5). So basically I Want a new wireless receiver so I can get a better signal and not have any software problems with it and I would like a new wireless Router(or dsl modem) to extend the range slightly and so I can have QSS built in.

My budget for both is probably $100 I will spend more if anyone really thinks its worth the extra money. I will probably be purchasing this from Amazon.

It is going to be pure luck which device works better. I would be trying device drivers first though.

Netgear is one of the more popular nic. This is the huge problem with wireless the same exact devices work really well for some people in some houses and other people can't get them stable. This is why you see huge variation in the comments on every device there is on the market. Just because something works great in one persons house means nothing unfortunately.

Still some are just asking for problems. Not sure if this is the one you use http://www.amazon.com/dp/B006V72AHW but you trade small size for performance. These in particular are not the best choice for desktops since you are most times plugging it into the back...
There is not a huge difference between routers so replacing the router may not help...you never really know. PCI main advantage is it has better antenna than the USB but you have to be somewhat careful with PC placement since the antenna are very close to the case.

I would try a cheap USB extension cable so you can put your nic card in other parts of the room maybe it is getting poor signal. It is only $3 to try and if that does not work then you can look at a router replacement but it is all going to be luck to find your issue.

Well basically I want to get rid of this USB adapter because it keeps disconnecting randomly from the router or from the internet. So my WiFi receiver is a problem for sure. I just need recommendations on what parts to use. I usually get 70% connection but even then it disconnects somehow even though my cellphone can hold the signal forever.
