So this is my friends laptop which came with windows xp preinstalled, and as support ended by microsoft side we decided to update to windows 7. Thing is Windows 7 is not supported by the company anymore (HP), so there are no drivers for this computer, only for XP and Vista. The mics do not work. Specifically the built in mic. I tried with an external one, and it doesn't get any sounds. The green bar only ascends when I play with the jack. So no physical sound I guess. I already tried all the regular solutions on cheking wether its muted or not. I'm pretty sure its a driver incompatability thing. What should I do?

Sorry for choppy text but I'm in a hurry.
