sata hdd stops getting detected after every few days

i have been suffering with this problem for a very long time....i have a gigabyte motherboard which detects a 80gb ide hard drive but it some how stops detecting the other seagate sata hdd 500gb after few days..i have tried a lot of things starting from changing the cables and power supply to formatting the pc...but issue persists even with a different sata hdd as well...i need help asap...please

Hi,

Have you considered checking the integrity of that Seagate hard drive? possibly It may fail soon. I would definitely suggest you to back up your data from that drive and then use Seatools to check its integrity.
