This will be my first build, hopefully it won't blow up in my face. I'd be very grateful if someone can suggest a gaming/work pc build. I'll mostly be writing essays, reports, etc. and the games will be total war series, Europa universalis 4, some bf4, red orchestra 2, and skyrim.

My budget is £650 but I'd prefer to spend around £600 or less.

I've worked out that an amd 8320 (or 8350) coupled with a gtx 760 or R9 280x would serve me well. However, I'm not sure which motherboard should go with it, which Psu, etc.

I'll need windows 7 or 8 within the build. I already have a 1080p monitor. Have a mouse and keyboard.

I'd also like to overclock my cpu and gpu (when I get some knowledge further on), so a suitable Psu and motherboard would be great (if possible within the £650) budget.

Thank you for your time.

PSU: The CX series are no very good, better go to GS series. (http://pcpartpicker.com/part/corsair-power-supply-cs550m)
Case: the Zalman Z12 Plus is a great choice. (http://pcpartpicker.com/part/zalman-case-z12plus)
Everything looks ok ;)

''Will it be possible to oc the cpu in that build? And do you think it would worth spending a little more for the 8320? ''

the fx 6300 is build for overclocking ... and for gaming you will not see a big difference between 6300 and 8320
but with video editing is better to go for an 8320
