I think my GPU is dead?

Hi, before I start, here's a list of my current setup:
Motherboard: M5A97 EVO R2.0
CPU: AMD FX 6350 Hexa Core 3.9GHz
PSU: Corsair Builder Series CXM 600W
GPU: Asus Geforce GTX 760
RAM: Corsair CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9 Vengeance 8GB DDR3
HDD: Not actually sure about this, some 500GB, I've had it a while but I doubt it makes any difference to my problem.

I was casually playing League of Legends (note I have it set on the highest graphics settings however the game is not THAT demanding, especially for a GTX 760) and at first I thought the game tabbed out on its own, but it seems my graphics card/drivers crashed, because my PC was still on and everything seemed fine but nothing was displaying on my screen. I gave it a few minutes to see if the drivers would recover but nothing happened so I was forced to shut down my PC.

I then turned it back on and nothing was displaying on the screen, I tried restarting a few times and even waited about 4 hours before trying again to see if it was to do with the heat but it still didn't show anything. Next I tried switching the signal cable between sockets on the GPU, that didn't work. I tried reseating the GPU and using a different PCI-E cable but those didn't work either... The fans on the GPU and the little green light by the PCI-E cable were on. Eventually I tried my old graphics card which is an Asus GTX 550 Ti and it worked perfectly. I'm now sat at my PC with the usual components apart from my GPU and everything seems to be exactly how it was before.

So... did my GPU blow up or something? Is it something to do with my drivers? The motherboard? Help :S

I've ended up just getting a refund for it. Thanks for the reply :) I really wonder why it just... broke? Doesn't make any sense, but hopefully the next one I get will be a better
