I got no sound while my drivers are installed.
the pc detects I plug headset/speakers in but I don't get any sound.

my motherboard : asus z87-k
https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/Z87K/

tried to reinstall sound drivers, also tried older version, nothing worked.

Solution
I have Asus Hero motherboard, and following are the settings i am currently using:
For starters, in the first pic, make sure the speakers are set to default as circled in yellow.

The sign with first arrow states front panel which on double clicking has the options of following pic for headphones:

When speakers plugged at back panel in green port, the options are:

Last settings are the options at main windows of realtek audio manager under settings:

That is all i could offer. I hope that helps :)

here is device manager ( I don't think anything is wrong):

after plugging earbuds in, I get this:
http://prntscr.com/3c06nt

Now I noticed that when I select headphone and press OK :
I hear a verry high noice, but no sound from pc.
but maybe the high noice is caused by the earbuds cus I tested with other ones and I don't hear anything.

the pc seems to do something cus the sound bar is blinking green.

everything seems normal but I don't get sound :??:
sorry for my bad english

go to system tray at right bottom corner of the desktop and right click on Speaker icon > Playback Devices and under playback tab, click on speaker and click set as default. Check the problem again. Sorry for the late reply.

I get that, but I needed sound asap.... pretty sure the onboard sound was better than the card I picked up too. really sucks, maybe ill pick it back up one day and see if I can fix it. please keep this open and post if you figure it out.

yes you should probably contact your vendor for the best. Can be some fault with motherboard itself. He may help you further in warranty or exchanging the board.
Good luck :)
