I don't have a floppy (A) drive for the motherboard/ notebook sata drivers - how can I get XP to look elsewhere?

Trying to install XP as a dual boot system as I have several pieces of software that will not work under W7. No floppy drive available and I have been down the slip-stream the drivers into making a new bootable CD route without success - I still end up with a blue screen telling me it cannot identify the hard drive. I would move to newer programs but one is my PCB layout package and all my libraries of parts would need to be re-made so that is a non-starter.

The only solution is to integrate your SATA drivers into your XP installation CD. You need to make an ISO of the installation CD using PowerISO or similar, copy the drivers to it, and edit TXTSETUP.SIF according to the instructions here:

I have made customized XP installation CDs for my SATA hard drive and it worked for me. Incidentally the XP setup program will not detect an LS120 drive as a source for the SATA drivers.
