hi i have had a pair of TP link 500mbps home plugs connecting my pc to the router which is downstairs, the only problem is that they drop very frequently, i have checked around to see if anyone else had the same problem but no one had the same problem.

Before you ask no it is not plugged into a extension, and all the lights are green indicating strong connection. It never happens when gaming ( thank god :) ) but only happens when watching youtube videos or idling.

much appreciated if anyone has a solution to my problem :)

Like wireless these are susceptible to random interference finding the interference is a huge pain most times. All you really can do it change outlets to try to get a different circuit in the house. I had exactly this issue in my rental house the tenants would get random drops. Turned out to be a ceiling fan in a different part of the house but only if it was set to medium speed. Eventually that fan failed and I replaced it with exactly same model and the new one causes no issues.

If you get some day when you can turn breakers off in the house it does not take too long to figure out which circuit at least it to blame. You can fix some of these by putting the offending device on a extension cord.

This is why I tell people to...

This is why I tell people to be sure you can return them since there are houses they are a pain to get to work.

Only other option if you can't get it to work is to try something like MoCA if you happen to have coax tv cable in both rooms....but that too has issues with some cable or direct-tv DVR systems.
