  1. Hard to say anything with so little information, but is this happening with all USB devices? If it is, your hard drive is probably failing.

Running a virus scan never hurts; Malware might be slowing down your PC.

What kind of information you want ? Ask question !
Yes its happening with all devices and USB
BTW what do you mean by Hard drive failure???
  3. What type of computer do you have is what is being asked, and is the hard drive a normal hard drive or solid state drive? What operating system do you have?

If it was failing then it might not be going at top speed maybe. Do something along the lines of this: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-vista/check-your-hard-disk-for-errors

Download Malwarebytes and run it to scan your PC for infections. Then download Speedfan and use the S.M.A.R.T. utility to test your HDD. Then click the "perform in-depth online analysis" button in the S.M.A.R.T.-tab of Speedfan. This will tell you if your HDD is in bad shape.

Have you tried any of the solutions I suggested? If you have, can you tell us what were the results?

  13. Are you running Windows XP? If you are indeed using XP, a full HDD can cause the PC to slow down. Did this slowness start suudenly or has it been getting worse over time? If it started suddenly, have you recently installed anything that could be causing this?
