High-end Gaming/Graphics or Video Editing/Music production rig

Built/purchased last year for the purpose of doing solidworks modeling, gaming, and music production. Ran Diablo III, Portal 2, and Torchlight 2 at max settings happily at full 1920 resolution (only games I played on it). Also rendered solidworks models and simulations far faster than anything else I have used.

X-Fi sound card is excellent for anyone wanting high-quality sound, including music producers or audiophiles. Comes with external case controls installed in front bay with volume control, RCA/SPDIF/Optical/MIDI In/Out and line in with dedicated audio control for Mic or other input. Comes with new in package Creative remote and batteries.

CPU is overclockable to 4.1GHz at the press of a button using the software that comes with the motherboard, though it has never been clocked above 3.6GHz as I never saw the need. Liquid CPU cooler keeps the core temps down even during heavy processing. Gigabyte motherboard is designed with reliablity and overclocking in mind with 2x copper PCB, multiple (8+) USB 3.0 ports, SATA 3.0, and other useful design considerations.

Computer comes pre-installed with fresh and updated copy of Windows 7 Pro SP1, Microsoft Office 2010 Professional suite (every office product available), and Adobe Photoshop (all x64 editions).

Includes Microsoft install disc for Windows, all driver CD's, manuals, etc etc etc. Also includes a Microsoft Lifecam HD-5000 (full 1080 video capable) webcam, Logitech headset with mic, Microsoft keyboard and Logitech mouse. Will throw in all necessary cables, including power and ethernet.

Selling because I just got an absurdly specced laptop and spend an average of 12+ hours per day on campus so my desktop doesn't even get powered on more than once a month. I am also moving at the end of the semester and am trying to be pro-active in getting rid of my extra things so as to keep the girlfriend happy.
All you need to do is set it up, connect a monitor (or three!) and you are ready to go.

Asking $1000, which is far less than it would cost for the hardware to build a comparable system, not including build costs, OS, or other software (total build cost would probably exceed $1600 in parts alone).

This is what he said about the desktop is it really worth it thanks.

i doubt this system is only a year old. some parts might be, but the cpu was released three years ago, and the graphics cards were released about 6 years ago now i believe. considering its most likely been overclocked in the past brings the value of the cpu down.

if it were me, i would be building new. if you are using this as a gaming pc, you can get away with less ram (8gb), and there's really no need for the sound card. that would leave some room for a better video card setup.
