Here I want to address two issues.
1. Would a 128GB partition of a 1 TB SSHD be some what equivalent to having a 128 GB SSD with a 1 TB HDD?
2. Say the aforementioned statement is a no, should I get a 128 GB SSD with a 1 TB HDD or 1 TB SSHD?

1. No.

2. Depends on what you want. if you value quick booting and fast program start-ups, then get the SSD. I personally don't think reduced waiting time is worth the price of a SSD (not at the moment at least).

I am no expert, but as far as i know, hybrid drives only enable you to achieve faster speeds on programs you use regularly, so, as an answer to your question, it would probably be a no

Depending on your budget and performance requirement, make the decision to buy a SSD or not, but if finances are not an issue, buy the SSD + HDD since you get a lot more of performance that way, as compared to the solo HDD

1) No. You have 128 GB SSD + 1000 GB (1 TB), with a partition you have 128 partition + the remaining 872 (1000-128).

2)SSD is going to be noticeably better then an sshd. I would rather buy the hdd and get the ssd latter when you have the funds.
