I use my computer (specs below) to fly FSX on Vatsim and it does a fairly good job, however I get some artifacts and microstutters from time to time and I was thinking of upgrading my GPU. I want to purchase a video card I can use in a future computer to fly on P3D. I'm looking at a GIGABYTE GV-N770OC-4GD GeForce GTX 770 4GB.

My thought is, I can buy and use the GTX 770 in my current computer and when I purchase a newer one, put the GTX 460 in the older computer and sell it, then put the GTX 770 in the newer computer.

Any advice or suggestions? I want to make sure the 770 will work in the current computer.

Wow didn't know they still made jumpered boards that's pretty cool.

Your power supply should be good enough but I don't know what brand you have so I can't say for sure.
You will see an improvement with the 770 and it will switch your bottleneck over to your CPU since FSX is such a CPU intensive game.

Hah! I see you read the fine print. The power supply isn't the best. A Xion, XON-700P12N. Might have to update that too!?

I would recommend it. You always want to have a solid tier 1 or 2 PSU because they last longer, provide cleaner power, and are far less likely to damage anything else if they do stop working. Cheaper PSU have a habit of taking whole systems with them quite regularly.

Unfortunately yours is a tier 5 and should probably be replaced as soon as possible (link also has basic tier explanation)

I recommend replacing with something like this
