How can I get online? I installed xp on an old laptop and it wont detect my modem because its not updated enough. I cant update it until I can get online. What is it i need?

Get a flash drive, put the drivers on there and search for them through device manager. Do a manual installation.

You need to download your laptop's appropriate drivers from it's website from another pc, copy them and install them so you can get WLAN, LAN, sound, graphics etc properly detected in your laptop.
