this is for a gaming pc build using an AMD cpu and graphics card with enough space for 16GB of RAM and i need a suitable motherboard to fit inside a BetFenix prodigy

Solution
In a Bitfenix Prodigy AMD builds are near to non-existent because they rarely make economic sense.

As mentioned, there are no AM3+ ITX boards, which rules out all of the FX line.
That means you are dealing predominantly with APUs (and the 750K/760K) which tend to make sense only in super budgety builds, which doesn't really fit with the Prodigy case - it's size is a benefit only when using higher end components.

The issue Kaveri had at launch and to one degree or another, still has, is that it's too expensive for it's performance. If you aren't running a discrete graphics card it's basically unbeatable, but as soon as you put it in a bigger case or try and pair it up with a low level card for dual graphics, it's price/performance...

Would an AMD Kaveri fit on the FM2 board? i want to run its intergrated graphics with an R9 card to get some nice performance

If you aren't running a discrete graphics card it's basically unbeatable, but as soon as you put it in a bigger case or try and pair it up with a low level card for dual graphics, it's price/performance ratio falls apart. This is exacerbated by a lack of low end motherboards for FM2+.

Also, if you are trying to put 16Gb of RAM into a gaming build then it's likely that you have quite a bit of money in your total budget - 16Gb is excessive for the vast majority of tasks, even in an APU system.
It really comes down to your budget, but in general you are better off with an i5. It's similarly priced to a Kaveri A10, you can get a motherboard for up to half the price, and it's a far better prospect when it comes to upgrading/flexibility.
If you are at a lower budget, then halfing the cost of your CPU to an Athlon X4 750K/760K and pushing money into a single mid-range card is quite likely to be the best result. The motherboards still aren't super cheap, and the selection is limited, but it can offer great value ITX performance.
