BSOD using Samsung 840 evo

I recently upgraded to a ssd boot drive, but after installing the drivers for my mobo, i get blue screened when i open certain apps and it says "DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (iaStorA.sys)". what is the problem!?

  1. The blue screen references the storage driver (iaStorA.sys), and it happens while opening apps (thus accessing the ssd). I'm suspecting a bad SSD there.
  2. iaStorA.sys is from Intel's Rapid Storage Technology, I would first run the intel driver update utility that may in turn suggest a more suitable driver than the one that might have been installed when you performed the MB updates.

i used the utility but i don't know what category it belongs in cause most of the drivers are unknown, and also, do i even need it? cause when i uninstalled it, the problems went away
