So I've been trying to find my CPU temp with multiple different temp reading software but it's just getting me very confused and filling me with questions.

To kinda show what I'm talking about, Speccy shows my CPU being at around 35c while speedfan and hwmonitor show things like tmpin0, 1, and 2.

I always normally use hwmonitor and i was under the impression the package temp was my cpu temp but now i just don't know =(

I'd uninstall all those and use core temp. I'd say it's the program most "enthusiasts" use:

I have it setup; so my 4 core temps(i7) are always in my system tray, just left of the time.
