I have a Dell Inspiron laptop and I'm having trouble using my webcam all of a sudden. When I attempt to turn on my Dell Webcam Central, I get the following message "Your webcam may be used by another application. Close the application to start video streaming." I have verified that I have no other applications running and I have also uninstalled the webcam and than re-installed. I have also tried disabling it than re-enabling. I'm all out of options, I need some help. The screen is all black; however, my webcam IS working when I use Yahoo Messenger. Please help, I'm all out of ideas. The only thing I've done recently is get a new router and all of a sudden I have issues.

"my webcam IS working when I use Yahoo Messenger"

That's a strong clue. I reckon YM is what's stopping you using the webcam for anything else. make sure YM is not running in the notifications area when you think you've closed it, and make sure YM not configured to start with Windows.

Ccleaner will show you what modules start with Windows, and allows you to disable those you don't want to start with Windows: http://www.filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/
