Hi Tom's,

I just built my first PC. At first it turned on but didn't display anything.

So I reseated the RAM and then it wouldn't even start.

I think my RAM may be incompatible, because the mobo showed Q Code 53, which I believe means RAM incompatibility. I checked the mobo manual for my asus hero's compatible RAM, and mine wasn't listed.

My RAM is Ripjaws X 1866 CAS 8, or
F3-14900CL8D-8GBXM

In my manual it says this is compatible:
F3-14900CL9D-8GBSR(XMP)

So they are a bit different is this what is causing my problems?

Thanks for your time.

Any thoughts? I'm so stressed over this, it's ruined my Easter/420 :(

I have this problem before. Turns out to be the graphics card

Interesting. I was thinking it could be the GPU. The ACX fans spin but it doesn't light up.

What was wrong with your video card? Mine is an EVGA SC 780ti

Mine was 7750 LP from sapphire. It appears that dust was blocking the signal for detecting the GPU. So I dismantled the fan and cleaned the dust inside. I installed the GPU back and it worked flawlessly.
