Would an SSD improve/reduce turn times in turn based strategy games? (Civ 5 mainly)

So I know an SSD isn't supposed to do much for performance, it's more of an improvement for loading and installing and booting up a PC. I was wondering though, would or could an SSD reduce the amount of time in between turns in turn based strategy games? I know from experience that Civ 5 has brutally long turn times in the late game with multiple AI, and was wondering if an SSD would improve that time at all.

Thank you for your time.

To shrink turn time You need really quick processor and a lot of RAM, well supported by System. Usually, strategy games use disk in save and AUTO save mode. If You have short time AUTO-SAVE mode (every 5 - 10 minutes), SSD may really help. But usually, all time you wait, PC spend to math calculate AI turn. And the more AI players and harder mode to play, the more variants CPU calculates and the more time it takes.

So an SSD will never improve game performance at all? I'm struggling to determine whether I want one, quick load/boot/install time is very nice, but I don't know if the extra capital is worth it to me. Thank you!

Hmmm, in that case, would 8Gb of RAM and an i5 4670k be enough for strategy games?

I do, and I believe at this point in time, Civ 5 does support x64, it ran well on my laptop until the late game, where turn times became unbearably slow, taking sometimes up to 30-45 seconds per turn, which adds up after hundreds of turns.

Well, I could rarely stand that time for too long, and would end the game... I've played around 500 hours and never finished a game xD. 1-3 minutes would be insanely brutal.... How is someone supposed to enjoy a game with turn times like that?! I feel like Firaxis could have put more work into optimizing it, I LOVE Civ 5, but the long turn times are brutal.
