Should I pull my graphics card apart?

Graphics card worked fine for years, then I pulled the whole PC apart to clean the CPU heat sink. All I did to the graphics card though was blow some air in there and unplugged it and plugged it back in.

Now whatever controls the fan normally doesn't seem to be keeping it cool enough. I'm getting artifacts in Diablo 3 and Starcraft at the settings I used to use for years.

I have a workaround through MSI fan control, but it's annoying to have to start it each time.

So the question is:
--Can I even pull the graphics card apart? ATI Radeon HD4870
--If I clean it out, will it likely even help?
--Is it worth the trouble?
