Synapse not letting me use my Blackwidow's potential?

I have a Razer Blackwidow Ultimate 2013 and I love it. What I don't love is Razer's software. Whenever it's open, my keyboard doesn't light up. This is a huge problem for me since I've gotten so used to backlit keyboards that I find it hard to type on non-backlit ones anymore! I loved the macro keys, too, in the time I used them so that's why I want the software to work. Any ways to fix this? If not, I mostly use the macros for Skyrim, so is there some mod/program to put macros into Skyrim without Synapse?

synapse should have an on/off button for the backlight within it. perhaps you have it disabled.

you shouldnt be looking at the keys for typing anyways. the fastest typing will be from memory.

if you want to create macros without synapse there is a program called autohotkey you may want to look into.
