I was in a rush and I turned off my desktop computer by pressing and holding the power button until it turned off and when I came back and tried turning my computer back on. After the loading screen, i would normally see the screen where i type in my password to access my computer but this time it was stuck on a black screen and i couldnt do anything other than move my mouse. I searched around for a solution but none have worked so far. I tried pressing f8 during the boot screen to access the boot menu and i tried resetting my computer to a previous date before this whole situation happened but my computer did not save any previous date so i cannot roll back my computer.

Kinda sounds like your hard drive was corrupted. Turning your computer off like that is known to damage hard drives. If you have a spare hard drive around I'd try to see if your mono will locate that. If your mobo will not recognize a HDD and you can't get into the setup utility then its probably the mono itself.

Thats exactly what i was thinking. Is it possible for me to just grab a hard drive from a different desktop computer and use it or is there something i must do to make it work with my computer?

Operating systems are tied to motherboards. So if you can grab a fresh one it would be best. Either way if you can't get into the setup utility I would still point to the MOBO.

I dont think its my mobo but otherwise, how would i know if it was my mobo that was causing this issue?

It shows 2 hard drives that my computer can possibly boot from. It wasnt booting my harddrive first so i changed so my hard drive is the priority but the problem is still there

Then its the HDD. Its corrupted. Hopefully you have a backup of your data, I would try to re-load windows and start from scratch. Sorry dude.

If you don't have a backup I'm sorry, but hopefully this will be a lesson in why backups are important.

Not only that, but properly shutting down your PC is CRITICAL. When you shut it down like you did it interrupts the hard drives natural processes and can cause serious errors.

I am sorry but it looks like this is your problem.
