MemOk light after sucessful posts

This is my first build and I succesfully installed windows and then went to install a 212 evo cooler to replace the stock cooler and the cpu came off with the heatsink. I mananged to get it off and reinstalled everything but now my computer will not post and the MemOk light is on. I tried pressing the button and it blinks for a few second but then turns solid again and never posts. Is the issue really my memory or is it the cpu or something else?
I have an asus M5a99x evo
g skill ripjaw x 2X4
msi r9 270
amd 8350

Read your manual.
It tells you to hold the button until a certain LED flashes...

It also says it could be your memory sticks in the wrong slots (or loose). It makes no mention of the CPU being incorrectly installed though I suppose that's an option.

I suggest you:
a) Verify the RAM sticks are in the correct slots, then REINSERT them,
b) follow the MEMOK instructions in the manual,
c) run MEMTEST www.memtest.org for a full pass, and
d) if all else fails, reinstall the CPU heatsink making sure it's fully seated
