So I built my first two computers. The first an a10 6800k with 2133 mhz ram which I ran into problems later due to not updating drivers. And then just this week I finished a computer with an amd 8320 and a gtx 750 ti ftw. This booted the first time and then I used the driver disc that came with it let them find the more up to date drivers. I moved Windows 8.1 from the first to the second. So now I want to build a Hackintosh because a copy of os x snow Leopard is 20$. I know it's not as simple as installing windows. But is it possible without a mac product? And the parts I want to use are an intel pentium g3220 for the cpu. A gigabyte ud3h for the motherboard a crucial m500 240 gb ssd a corsair cx 430 Watt power supply and crucial lp ram. And I will use the Intel graphics chip in till I can get a graphics card. But any tips or guides will be helpful. I know this isn't the best cpu I just want to get it up and running with os x and once I have that later on upgrade to the 4770k and a gtx 760.

Some people say you need a mac device. And other files to trick it into booting

As long as you have a working mac, and are running hardware similar to tonymacs guide, unibeast + chameleon boot loader, and a few DSDT is all that's needed. The more you stray from the recommendations the harder it gets. One problem you will see with the M500 is that it's a 4k drive and you will need to once the install works follow the steps here http://www.tonymacx86.com/25-boot0-error-official-guide... to get around the boot0 error.

Well in theory yes, you could run the OS in virtual box first, and run unibeast that way.

After buying the gigabyte udh5 motherboard and the g3220, I now know that OS X Mavericks will not run on a pentium chip, which is too bad. I stuck my i7 4770k in it and it ran great, even boots with no flags. The intel i3 is the lowest end processor you can run in your hackintosh, and preferably with a gigabyte board.
