Hard Disk S.M.A.R.T. status bad, backup and replace

Solution

I strongly advise you to buy a new hard drive and backup your data. You never know when failure might occur. I have an old hard drive from around 2003 and it always said S.M.A.R.T STATUS bad. The hard drive still works. The hard drive could last for years like that but don't take that risk if you have important data. You should put all your pictures and stuff like that in the cloud. Microsoft's One Drive(Skydrive) would be great for that. And don't forget about dropbox and Google Drive.
