Modem keeps disconnecting

When ever I connect my laptop to wifi, the connection in the modem goes off. But through the Ethernet cable it works perfectly well. And I can also connect to the wifi from my phone and my friends can connect to it too. So I have been working with the Ethernet cable, but it limits the mobility of laptop. So can someone tell me why the connection goes off only when my lap is connected to the wifi?

make sure your wps is disable because of this whenever a device tries to connect to wifi it will disconnect or even lose network. this happened to once when i accidentally enable wps and when i use my ipad it wont work
