Hello all,

Pardon me if this post has been solved already, but I am having major issues with my internet connection. I just recently purchased a new PC with windows 8. The issue I am having is that the linksys adapter can connect to the router (Comcast is the ISP), but I have limited to no access. Every two minutes or so I can access Google and Yahoo for a brief second, and then I cannot go any farther. I have tried almost everything I have seen online, from flushing the DNS and refreshing the ipconfig, moving my computer away from heavy metal, calling Comcast for assistance(which is another rant in itself), resetting the router countless, and lastly, to praying to the technology gods to bless me with fixing this annoying issue.
I have had this computer since the 12th, and originally had it at another house for three days. There, my wireless connection worked wonderfully. Now, at another house, I cannot seem to figure out what is the issue. Again, I would like to point out that a couple times I have had consistent access to the internet at the new house for up to 5 hours at time. But, I have no idea what I did differently to fix this.

Any input would be very helpful! I am beyond annoyed/irritated/stressed with this little issue when I have invested a good chunk of change into my computer/adapter!

Thank you.

Solution
How does the computer perform when in the same room as the wireless router?

Also have you tried connecting it via ethernet to the router to see if that works wihtout issue?

Hello and thank you for responding.

I have not tried any of that because I am using a desktop that is almost 30 m away, so that would be almost impossible to wire all the way there.

However, I had a bright idea last night and thought I would switch the adapter from the back to the front. This fixed my issue. Which is strange, because I have not been able to get the correct positioning for the past two weeks.

Previously, I had my computer set inside of a desk, next to a lot of metal legs and a thick sheet to support a printer or what have you. I moved the computer outside of the desk, so it is closer to the router and hopefully a stronger signal. THIS apparently has fixed the issue. For future people who are looking for a solution to this specific problem, I had tried everything there is on websites such as this as stated above. Moving the adapter away from metal and towards the router has fixed it. I will post back in a few days if the problem persists, but for as now, it seems to be solved.
