I currently own a Mac Mini which I'm hoping to sell for $400, and then I have an old PC I'm gonna salvage some parts from. Ideally I didn't wanna go past $400, but I rather pay a little extra for reliability than be cheap and have stuff breakdown shortly down the line. I wasn't sure about the compatibility about all these parts and if anyone can recommend cheaper and still reliable parts please do. I don't really know too much about computer parts/specs, so treat me as a noob.

Basically I'd like a gaming build to handle new games (Titanfall, Watch Dogs, etc.) and still look good but obviously not spectacular.

Total: $546.94
CPU: AMD FX-8320 3.5GHz 8-Core Processor - $152
MoBo: Asus M5A97 ATX AM3+ Motherboard - $90
RAM: G.Skill Sniper Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1866 Memory - $80
GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 750 Ti 2GB Video Card - $160
PSU: Corsair CX 600W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply - $65

THANKS

Guys thanks for the quick replies, I'm taking a little from both of you but leaning towards the better video card and this is what I have now:

AMD FX-6300 - $118.49
ASUS M5A97 - $89.79
EVGA GTX 760 - $244.99
G.SKILL Ares Series - $68.99
XFX 550W PRO550W - $49.99

TOTAL: $572.25

Still don't mind some builds, and thanks guys

Just for note: Never get reference graphics cards, reference cards use one blower design fan which is extremely loud.

I just told according to price because non reference card doesn't cost lower than 250$ but GPU in your link is a good non reference one :)

A big thank you guys, just one last question. With this motherboard/processor choice, I should be able to do some light overclocking if I choose to, correct? ..And if this is possible, do you think a cooler is a necessary purchase?

You can OC your CPU very well with that motherboard and 212 EVO cooler. :)
