looks like you've done your research, if this is purely a gaming rig then i would save yourself some cash and go with the i5 4670k. Perhaps the saving there would justify getting a 780 ti.

Processors have there own shelf life anyway but i would be surprised if the i5 couldn't handle games a max settings in 2-3 years. It also varies game to game, some games are cpu intensive some are not. Personally i would go with the i5 and give it a nice comfortable overclock at safe temps to extend its life. Its a tough choice and either way you are going to have a very beefy system.
