Im building a pc and i'd like to know if it's safe to run this memory (Team Vulcan 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 2400mhz) which runs at 1.65v because I've heard that it will shorten the life of my cpu.

The motherboard im using is the MSI Z87-G45

And the Ram is this

Can I also say that i am a first time builder so any tips are welcome!

Solution
While it is unlikely, it is not officially supported so we can never say never. If you are seriously concerned about long-term longevity, stick to what the specs say.
