I want to buy a case fan mainly because I have a r9 290x which is pretty hot and loud. Is there a big difference with and without a case fan? I am looking at the corsair sp120 would it fit on my case? When I want to install the fan do I just have to screw it on my case?

My case is a GEH Bitfenix Shinobi bf4 edition.

You will see a difference if you get a fan with high CFM and RPM. and yes you will just have to screw it on to the case and attach the plug into the motherboard. i suggest you get Cool master JetFlo, theres 3 LED ones and 1 non LED one to choose from.

And if you dont mind loud fans I suggest the Scythe Ultra Kaze. These are amazing for overclocking CPUs and cooling down the innards.

P.S I used these fans to overclock my CPU cuz the Noctua ones that came with the CPU cooler weren't doing the job.

Yup they will fit there all 120MM Fans (12cm) you can put 2 in the front for intake, and 2 on the top for exhaust

Sorry for all the questioning. But do you know by how much the temperature would ca decrease. Right know my gpu is running on 75 % fan speed and it gets ca up to 77 degrees. Would two in the front and two on top be the best way or would one on top and one on front do the job good enough?

Well the best would be to get two in front and two on top to balance out the airflow. Cuz you want cool down the system and also immediately take the warmth out of the system. If you cannot afford that many fans you can get a better quantity of these fans. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

Thanks for all the responses. I think I will just go with 4 cooler master jetflo.
One last thing what do you think how much would the temperature decrease approxamiatley ?

What are ur temps currently, I think it will cool the GPU down to around 50-60 Celsius under load. And also it will help if you keep ur room around 20-23 Degrees Celsius cuz u dont want the fans to suck in warm air.

Yes I think you will see a significant temperature drop by using fans. I remember when i was new to computer building I got my CPU temp to 95 degrees celcius and surprisingly enough it didnt damage it, it was able to handle the temp. But the reason for the temperature was a bad case and absolutely no airflow cuz i didnt have any fans so yea i learned from my mistake and got Case that had many mesh plates for airflow.

I have just ordered 4 cooler master jetflo fans. On my m5 a97 r2.0 motherboard I only have 3 case fan connectors. Do I have to plug the fourth fan into the power supply? When yes were exactly? Should I just put two fans on the top which sort of pull the air out and two on the front which would push the air out at the back of the case?

I will just go with the splitter. But should I just put two fans on the top which sort of pull the air out and two on the front which would push the air out at the back of the case?

Put two fans on top for exhaust, and put 2 fans in front for intake.

I am really sorry for the stupid questioning. But when there are two fans in the front which should sort of take the air from the outside and blow it inside, should I then take the front of the case off, because otherwise there would be a wall just in front of the front fans and they couldn't take the cold air from the outside and blow it inside.
My case is GEH Bitfenix Shinobi bf4 edition

No i looked at the pictures of it, and it does have vents on the edge, in front of the case for airflow. But if u still have some doubts, there should be a vent on the bottom of the case. you can also use that as in-take because warm air rises and cold air stay below so the fan will take the cold air below and push in the case, but ur going to need a filter there cuz idk if it comes with a filter.
this should give u an idea to where to put the fans. http://archive.benchmarkreviews.com/index.php?option=co...
