Hi everyone !

I'm currently building my rig and can not decide on what CPU cooler to use.

I was thinking to go with Corsair H80i but everyone seem to recommend Noctua which I personally don't like as it will not match my color scheme of a case and motherboard.

Thank you all in advance !

I have my first gen i7-920 OC'd from stock 2.66GHz to 4.0GHz using the Hyper 212 EVO and don't think I've seen the temps go over 70c and that was when running 8 instances of Prime95 with all 4 physical cores and the 4 hyperthreading cores at 100%. Of course, case cooling is an absolute requirement to maintaining low cpu temps when overclocking; I've got a CoolerMaster HAF932 which provides plenty of airflow. Please note that you can also install a 2nd fan on the 212 EVO so the fans work in a push/pull configuration.

Hope that helps!

I would choose the h80i or the 100i depending on your case. If your case will fit the h100i.. Go for it! The h100i is hands down the best all in one water cooler on the market. Also.. it is great for overclocking!! But if you want to go air cool then I would suggest the Noctua NH-D14

Is Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO any good for overclocking ? I'm planning to overclock 4.2 Ghz.
