My computer was running perfectly fine (built in February 2014) and ever since I turned my computer off at the PSU switch it hasn't turned on again (no fans, lights, or noise from the pc).
I needed to turn the computer off at the PSU because it went into deadlock, and I tried holding the power button for 5 second but it didn't turn off at all.
I originally thought the problem was the PSU, but after testing a new PSU, with my system it still has the same outcome as before.

I'm now thinking the problem is to do with my CPU after trouble shooting:

Things I have already tried with no success:

I have tried reconnecting all the parts except the CPU and still nothing.

The motherboard is mounted on all standoffs in the case, leaving no standoff touching the motherboard on the back.

I have now tried both sticks of RAM separately and still nothing.

I have now tried booting the PC with only the CPU, motherboard, PSU and one stick of RAM, but still nothing..

I have also reset the CMOS and still nothing

The power outlet is working fine.

I have also swapped another new motherboard out and still no power..

Solution
Yes, but be sure to disconnect the wires that run from the port to the front-panel switch. That switch may be OK, or shorted constantly, OR open constantly.

Just in case the problem is with your front-panel pushbutton switch, try this. Disconnect the wiring from the mobo's front panel connector that goes to the on/off switch. Maybe also the wires for the Reset switch. Now, with the PSU switched on at back, carefully short together the two pins on the mobo connector for the on/off switch - it only takes a second or two for this. Usually a small screwdriver can do this. See if the computer will start up. If it does, the problem may be the front switch. Let us know it this accomplished anything.

I'm glad that test worked. Now, I'm not clear whether the whole system has started working properly, or whether you still have to deal with a faulty pushbutton switch.

The switch is a very simple one - it is open normally, and closes when pushed, opens again when released. Any switch of this type can do that job for you.

As a temporary fix if you need it, the Reset switch on the front is the same type. So, you can connect the wires from the Reset switch to the pins on the mobo connector for the Power switch, and use the Reset switch as your on / off switch. You just will not have any Reset switch to use then.
