G'day,

over the last 6 minths i have been upgrading all of my current pc's, and now its the HTPC's turn.

My current HTPC is just my old gaming pc running windows 7 and VLC, so i have never realy done this properly.

I have done some reaserch and decided that im going to use media portal as the frontend.

So far the only component that i have picked out it the case. I want to use the silverstone grandia GD08.

What i need the system to do is as follows:
-Store all of my ripped dvd/blu-ray movies and tv shows and music.
-Play them all back in full HD (assuming they were ripped right) via HDMI to my 50 inch plasma.
-Play live TV via the Arial port in my wall.
-Act as the 1 location for all of my media files that will be accessed from all of my other pc around the house.
-Have emulators on it for playing games. E.G. ps1, PS2, 64 and so on.

I would like to keep it under $1000.

I live in Australia so newegg is out of the question as far as online retailers go.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers for the assist. I dont need an os. However I dont need a tv tuner card. I have been looking at the avermedia capteur hd hybrid pcie card. Has anybody had any experience with this card. Also I have been reading the emulators only require a decent cpu not a dedicated gpu. Is this correct, I would be hoping to use my ps2 emulator on this build.
